This universe is so vast and beautiful, yet we do not teach our children to bask in its wonders enough, or enjoy building something out of everything that is free to us, which, in today's case, are sandcastles!
FIRST ACTIVITY: SANDCASTLE BUILDING
The girls arrived at their destination at around 9.00 am, and were immediately briefed by this experienced facilitator. After communicating activity objectives and expectations, the girls were shown demonstrations on how to build sandcastles, and left to their own imaginations from then on.
Girls helping each other across the sandy beach to fetch some seawater to prepare their sand. Although it can be difficult to tread on sand, they held onto each other and steadied their steps.
"Watch the waves!"
First hurdle: overcome. Sweet smiles to commemorate even the smallest victories!
Below: Pictures of our girls building their sandcastles by themselves, and sometimes with advice and help from this friendly facilitator uncle.
The girls were tasked with building sandcastles as similar to some models which they have submitted previously. How close did they manage to get? Check the pictures below to see how they fared!

It is also worth noting that the facilitators thought that all three classes that were present at ECP today did well, although they also found 1A's performance most impressive as a class! *Applause of encouragement* As teachers, we also hope that 1A will keep in mind to keep up their good effort at working well with each other as well as being diligent and focused at work.
SECOND ACTIVITY: REFLECTION & STARGAZING
The girls gathered in the class after dinner to reflect on the insights and experience gained during the day. It was really heartening to see them being more diligent and serious about this reflection exercise compared to Day 1 of EFL.
After the session with their CTs, the girls were ushered into the hall for a short lecture about the Universe. It was both a special and warm session as the lecturer, Mr. Jayesh, is the husband of a teacher in STC! It was meaningful and engaging, and our girls were then helped by student volunteers from the VJC Astronomy Club to observe, through telescopes, the stars and planets in the night sky.
Day 2 of EFL had been eventful and meaningful for our girls, internally. I hope they'd never grow tired of learning, and would remain as kind and as curious about all there is to know in the world no matter how strangely the time flows. May they look back upon this page one day and remember that no matter how large this world is, they are never too small or too alone.
